Andreas Bauer was born in 1965 in Ludwigshafen, Germany. He did his Masters in Cultural Anthropology in 1995 at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. He also studied art history and theater- film- and television studies. After his studies he worked as a copywriter in an advertising agency in Frankfurt. From 1996 to 1998 he completed a postgraduate course in journalism at the Gutenberg University in Mainz. Since 1999 he has worked as an editor at Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt, the public broadcaster in the state of Hesse. In 2016 he was awarded the Hessian Journalist Prize. Andreas Bauer lives in Frankfurt.
Andreas Bauer has been involved with street photography since 2010. In 2018 he exhibited his work at the Teatro National, Havana (Cuba). In the same year his works were featured in the magazine "Shades of Color". In 2021 he received third prize in theindependentphoto Street Photo Contest and first prize in the Cewe Foto Award, Section Sport.
